In January 2013, a new “wave” of participants started the Moldovan/Romanian language course. The National Association of European Trainers from Moldova (ANTEM) has launched a new academic year within the framework of the “Language Training Program for Civil Servants in Moldova (2012-2013)”.
This programme is funded by the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (the Hague) and the Government of Finland. It aims at giving the possibility to the representatives of national minorities from the Republic of Moldova (RM) to study the official language free-of-charge. To remind that the beneficiaries of the programme can be only the citizens of the RM who belong to such professional categories as doctors, teachers, police officers, lawyers etc.
The national minorities from Taraclia, Balți and Comrat continue to be the most active, since the majority of requests to study the official language have been received specifically from these localities. Nevertheless ANTEM has recently expanded the training programme to two additional localities namely Avdarma and Copceac (UTAG). In January 2013, 210 additional civil servants started the language training program at the first level (A1), whereas the other 300 continued the course at the second level (A2).
To underline that during the studying period ANTEM privides the students for free with all the necessary teaching materials such as books, copybooks, audio and video materials etc. In recent years the number of people wishing to study the official language has considerably increased. This indicates that the training programme is an effective one whereas the teaching-learning process among participants is carried out in compliance with the European standards.
